College Recognizes Baker as Distinguished Honor Graduate

5/17/07

The College of Education and Human Development recognized Courtney Baker on Friday, May 11 at 3 p.m. in the J. Wayne Stark Galleries in the Memorial Student Center, as a Distinguished Honor Graduate.

Courtney Baker engaged her love of working with others as an intern with Mercedes Homes in Dallas.

At her internship she worked under the regional vice president of human resources on employee information, new hire information and training and company event planning. She also planned and facilitated the division's first health fair and initiated and conducted a paid time off audit.

Courtney notes "My desire is to work with people; to interact and create relationships with those around me. Whatever I end up doing, it will involve helping others in whatever way I can."

Courtney, a human resource development major from Midland, Texas, graduated magna cum laude with a 3.818.

The College of Education and Human Development recognizes those students who not only performed well in the classroom, but also excelled outside of the classroom in organizations and in the community.
