Admission Process

Admission to the Texas A&M Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (SAAHE) Program involves submission of all application materials, the determination that the applicant meets the Program's requirements, and an interview.

Applicants for graduate study must show the potential for completion of a graduate degree. Admission to the SAAHE program is based upon the following requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Resume
  • An autobiographical essay
  • A writing sample (conducted at the Interviewing Conference)
  • Personal interview with SAAHE faculty members (conducted at the Interviewing Conference)
  • An acceptable combination of grade point average (GPA) and scores on the Graduate Record of Examination (GRE)

Interviews and writing samples are conducted during the SAAHE Interviewing Conference held in the spring on the Texas A&M University campus. The remaining requirements are part of a formal application for admission. Financial Assistance

If you are employed as a graduate assistant, you are eligible for 9 hours of tuition remission.  In order to receive this remission, you must submit a Payment Tuition Form to your employer prior to the first day of classes of a given semester. 

Additionally, if you are a graduate assistant and considered a non-resident, you are eligible for a tuition waiver to grant you in-state tution fees. In order to receive this waiver, you must submit a Payment Tuition Form and Out-of-State Tuition Waiver Form to your employer prior to the first day of classes of a given semester. 

If additional funding is needed by way of loans, please make sure to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
