The Principal Center provides training, research, and technical assistance to the principals of Texas and the schools they serve as well as providing a secondary goal to make a national impact on the field of school administration through participation in national professional associations, publications in academic and practitioner journals, and policy statements to governmental agencies that establish conditions for the training and professional development of principals.

For principal preparation, the Center offers a five-week summer institute program for aspiring principals which includes:

  • Skill buidling activities, in-baskets, leaderless groups, and case simulations
  • Problem solving in real school situations
  • 1 to 3 hours of graduate course credit or professional development credit available

For more information, please refer to the Principal Center Institute Web site.
