Applications submitted by TAMU students seeking to change into the ISNC major will be evaluated on a competitive basis. The minimum GPR requirement will remain at 2.0. The number of TAMU students permitted into the ISNC program will be determined on a semester by semester basis.

Current TAMU students who have completed 29 hours or less (including transfer courses) and who have a GPR of 2.0 or higher are free to initiate the change of major process by scheduling an appointment to meet with one of the ISNC undergraduate advisors.

Students with 30 hours or more of completed hours may apply for a transfer into the ISNC major after certain requirements have been met, including successful completion of a subset of specific courses and a cumulative GPR of 2.0 or greater. Submitting an application to change into the ISNC major is no guarantee of acceptance.

Any non-ISNC student enrolled at Texas A&M University may apply for change of curriculum to the EAHR Department once the student meets all 3 of the following specific criteria. (Note: All academic information included on the application must appear in a student's official academic record at Texas A&M University.)

  • Cumulative GPR of 2.0 or greater.
    • The cumulative GPR available on SIMS screen 192 will be used to determine eligibility for a change of major.
  • Submit a completed Application to:  ISNC Program Admission, Undergraduate Advising Office, 112 Heaton Hall. (Application is available from the EAHR webpage. Change Major form.)
    • A complete application will also include a written essay of not more than 400 words, double-spaced and typewritten, answering the following question: Why do I want to transfer to the ISNC program and how does this align with my career goals? Your essay should be persuasive and free of grammatical errors.
  • Complete a minimum of 6 of the following specific courses.

Note: If more than the 6-course minimum is complete when the application for change of curriculum is submitted, grades in all complete courses will be included in the GPR calculation.

Note: Students must pass these 6 courses with the minimum passing grade as indicated on ISNC degree plans. As indicated in the table below, a "C" is the minimum passing grade for courses marked with an asterisk (*).
