Alumni Connection Cohort Connections Division of Student Affairs
One of the most distinctive aspects of the SAAHE program is that is operates on a cohort basis, which allows approximately 15 students to enter each fall and to progress together throughout the entire program. This unique structure cultivates support, encouragement, and friendships from the moment that the SAAHE experience begins.
Connections are also developed with other staff and colleagues at Texas A&M University through assistantship opportunities, practica and the Student Affairs Connections program. Finally SAAHE connections are expanded through networking with former SAAHE students, faculty and staff at national conferences and on the SAAHE-L Listserv.

- The Association of Future Student Affairs Professionals (AFSAP)
The Association of Future Student Affairs Professionals (AFSAP) is a student organization affiliated with the SAAHE academic program and serves as a resource for faculty, staff and students involved in the program. The organization provides an opportunity for its members to develop supplemental skills necessary for success in the field of Student Affairs. Students provide and receive support, interact with professionals, discuss and learn about services, and plan and implement developmental programs. Regularly scheduled meetings highlight professional issues, common concerns, and coordination of activities. Programs and retreats focus on advising skills, resume writing, interviewing, conference presentations and publications among other topics. AFSAP allows current SAAHE students to help the program develop and change to meet the needs of future students. It also provides rich social and service opportunities for its members.
