FUN FACTS about faculty, staff and students.. Did you know....????

Tito Guerrero, Professor
Higher Education

Dr. Guerrero is a former student of Texas A&M University (class of '70), and has worked in higher education for over thirty years. He has served as the President of two universities, and has been the chief academic officer, the chief student affairs officer, and the chief diversity officer as well as a tenured faculty member at four different universities. Dr. Guerrero joined Texas A&M University because of his desire to help students at his alma mater to begin exciting, demanding, and fulfilling professional journeys that will help to make this world a better place for all of its residents.

Darryl Bassile, Undergraduate Academic Advisor

Darryl Bassile is an advisor for the ISNC undergraduate program. He is also currently working on his Ph.D. in Adult Education. Darryl has resided in Texas several years but he calls himself a "Yankee" at heart moving to Texas from New York. He enjoys the outdoors taking time to fish and hike when he can, commenting "why is it still so hot in October?"

Fredrick Nafukho, Associate Professor
Human Resource Development Program Chair

Dr. Nafukho holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development, Louisiana State University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, an M.Ed (Economics of Education), and B.Ed Business Education and Economics from Kenyatta University.

Dr. Nafukho believes that what makes a great institution are the people (Students, Faculty, and Staff) among the many other resources. To quote:  "Having been a proceedings editor of the refereed proceedings of the Academy of Human Resource Development for two consecutive years, I know that faculty and graduate students from the HRD program at Texas A & M have led the Academy of Human Resource Development in the number of refereed publications. It is an honor for me to join such an outstanding program in the nation."

She is very excited to be back at TAMU because she went to graduate school here and has very fond memories of Aggieland. She and her husband, Mike, enjoy very active lifestyles and love to spend any free time they have in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado!!

Petra Robinson, Graduate Assistant

Petra Robinson is a new doctoral student specializing in Adult Education. She is a graduate assistant in the Academic Advising Office and also works closely with the Texas Center for Advancement of Literacy and Learning. She came to us from Jamaica fulfilling an opportunity to attend Texas A&M University. She is a Fellow of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. She is very family oriented, enjoys cooking and listening to oldies music.

Terah Venzant, Assistant Professor
Public School Administration

Howdy! Terah is excited to be at Texas A&M, and a part of a department that centers itself around issues of social justice. She is originally from Minnesota and went to graduate school at the University of Illinois, receiving a Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies in May 2005. She taught last year at Wellesley College, but jumped at the chance to be a part of an R-1 institution and is happily adjusting to the warmer climate. Her research interests involve education policy and urban education broadly, but is particularly interested African American education disparities at the K-12 level, especially relating to school tracking policies. Terah enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with family. It is rumored she makes a mean banana bread and has an affinity for sci fi and reality television.
