Educational Administration Students Win Scholarships

Two educational administration doctoral students in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development recently earned scholarships. 

Deanna Lovesmith, who graduated this May with her doctorate of education degree, received the $1,000 Dale Scheideman Scholarship from the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International. Lovesmith's research addresses the communication between architects and superintendents in the design process of a new school.

She is currently the director of curriculum at Connally Independent School District. 

Wanda Baker received a $5,000 scholarship from Delta Kappa Gamma. Baker plans to focus her research on the dropout and re-enrollment decision making of Hispanic students.

She is currently the seventh-grade assistant principal of Kahla Middle School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.
