Admissions Overview

The programs of study in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development (EAHR) require admission materials to be sent to the Texas A&M University Office of Admissions and Records and materials to be sent directly to the Department. Non-Degree Admission Information (G6)


To apply for full admission into the department, the Office of Graduate Admissions and Records at Texas A&M University requires the following items:

  • TAMU Application  - Complete the online Texas Common Graduate Application accompanied by a $50 application fee ($75 for international applicants)
  • Official transcripts - Transcripts must be submitted from each higher education institution previously attended
  • Official TOFLC or IELTS scores - International applicants only must submit scores less than two years old. Scores are sent electronically using the Texas A&M University code-6003. (See Office of Graduate Studies for directions for waivers)

In addition to the TAMU admission requirements, the Department requires applicants to submit the following items. These items may be sent electronically for your convenience or may be mailed or faxed to the Office of Academic Advising address listed below.

For electronic submission: Once open, complete forms and choose Desktop Internet Application, then choose send data. Attach files to open email window and send. Take note: Your computer must have the 7.0 version of Acobat Abobe in order to submit items electronically.

  • ONLINE Departmental Admission Application
  • A one-page minimum statement of professional intent -- must indicate why wish to pursue the degree, what the degree can accomplish for your careeer goals and specifc area interests (attach with online Departmental Application or email to eahradvisor@tamu.edu)
  • A current resume -- attach when submitting the online Department Admission Application or email to eahradvisor@tamu.edu.
  • Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores -- must be taken within last five years. Scores must be requested from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and sent electronically using Texas A&M University code-6003.
  • Three evaluation forms completed by any of the following:                
    • Your immediate or past supervisor 
    • a peer or professor
    • another person from the above categories

These evaluation forms must be submitted electronically by the individuals in which you indicated on your Department Admission Application. These individuals will be contacted for verification of submission of the evaluation form. If the information included in the evaluation form is not complete and accurate, your application will not be considered for review.

Doctoral and masters candidates in specific specializations are REQUIRED to come to the College Station campus for an interview and writing exercise. Please refer to your specific specialization of interest whether an interview is required. If an interview is required, they will be held in October for spring admission and February for summer and fall admission. Doctoral candidates are required to prepare a short presentation before interviewers.

Acceptance into the Department is based on consideration from the following:

  • A required committee interview (only for specific specializations)
  • A writing exercise (only for specific specializations)
  • Professional statement of intent
  • Work experience
  • Professional and community services
  • Publications and presentations
  • Evaluation forms
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (verbal, quantitative and writing)
  • Grade Point Ratio (GPR)

EAHR Admission Deadlines

  • To begin in the spring semester, all application materials must be submitted by August 15.
  • To begin in the summer or fall semester, all application materials must be submitted by December 1. 

The deadlines listed above apply to all EAHR specializations within the department EXCEPT the Doctorate program with the Human Resource Development specialization. The deadline for the doctorate HRD specialization is December 1 of every year only. The admission decision is made for acceptance for each subsequent summer, fall and spring semesters. Non-Degree Admission Information (G6)

A post-baccalaureate non-degree seeking graduate student may take up to twelve (12) credit hours and may have those hours apply to a degree program at TAMU-College Station. To apply for post-baccalaureate non-degree seeking status, an individual must: 1) complete the post-baccalaureate non-degree seeking application; 2) submit the required application processing fee; and 3) submit a complete official transcript that shows the completion of a baccalaureate degree. Appyling in this status, will not guarantee any admission to any department.

The application processing fee is: $50.00 for US citizens and permanent residents. Only in unusual circumstances will international students be eligible to apply in non-degree status. The post-baccalaurate non-degree seeking application may be obtained by contacting the Graduate Admissions Office at (979) 845-1060; contacting a graduate academic advisor by emailor by submitting the application on-line on the Office of Admissions and Records Web site.

Post-baccalaureate non-degree seeking graduate students are not eligible for assistantships, fellowships, scholarships or any financial assistance funded by Texas A&M University.
