Graduate Program Details

HOWDY!!!

As a new graduate student in our Department, hopefully you will begin to familiarize yourself with the faculty, staff and other graduate students within the Department. There may be several questions you may need answers to. We hope this Web site will be the first and best place for your immediate needs. Please contact the academic advisors if you do not find what you are looking for. We have provided some specific information below to inform you and to assist you throughout your studies here at Texas A&M Univeristy.

EAHR Department Handbook --- The Office of Graduate Advising has provided a graduate handbook to help assist you during your studies. It is strongly advised to read it carefully and look back at it often throughout your program, as it contains valuable information. Each admitted student will be blocked for the first semester of registration until the student has attended the mandoratory department orientation covering the Department Handbook. Although, this handbook is provided for your benefit and your chair will provide help when requested, you should remember that it is your responsiblity to see that all requirements for the degree are met.

Office of Graduate Studies New Student Orientation --- This orientation is a university-wide program offered to all incoming graduate students. It will provide a terrific overview of what you can expect at Texas A&M University - both as a student and as a resident of "Aggieland." Orientation also will offer you a chance to meet campus leaders, administrators, and fellow graduate students. To attend the New Graduate Student Orientation you must be an admitted graduate student for the upcoming semester. It is will also help you throughout your program if you familiarize yourself with the Office of Graduate Studies Web site. You will find that you will need to file specific forms, such as degree plans, petition to change course work, petition to change your committee, etc. These forms can be obtained on this web site. International students can obtain details on International Student Orientation and other international concerns at the International Student Services Web site.

TAMU Residency Requirement
--- Texas A&M University requires all graduate students to complete a residence requirement during their degree program, including the HRD masters online program. The major purpose of this requirement is to ensure that students have an opportunity to benefit from the advantages of a university environment. Advantages may include, but not limited to, accessibility of library, and physical facilities, and opportunities to participate in a variety of cultural activities. Equally important to students are the advantages of becoming acquainted with the faculty and other students on a personal and a professional basis. For more information, please refer to the Residence Requirement information link. Only doctoral students are required to fill out a residency form and submit it to the department.
