TCALL Fellowship Application Deadline Extended To Wednesday7/26/07 By Lauren Rouse The Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (TCALL) has extended the deadline to Wednesday (Aug. 1) for two full-time doctoral student fellowships being offered for the 2007-2008 academic year. The fellowship requires recipient be involved in TCALL research projects during the year, with the amount of the fellowship grant and number of hours of involvement being determined at the time of the award. Each one-year fellowship will not exceed $25,000 and can be used to offset the cost of tuition, fees and maintenance while a student at Texas A&M. "To be eligible, you must be a full-time doctoral student at Texas A&M with a background and commitment to adult education and/or adult literacy or family literacy programs," Dominique Chlup, director of TCALL said. "Eligible students are not required to live in Bryan-College Station but must be willing to make themselves available for meetings and the possibility of conducting research at TCALL." To apply, students should submit a resume, cover letter and a three- to four-page proposal addressing their background and interests in adult or family literacy and/or adult education and qualifications.
