Thaemlitz Receives Academic Fellowship Award11/22/05 By Jenna Smith Kristi Thaemlitz, doctoral student in educational administration, received the T.M. Stinnett Academic Fellowship Award at a luncheon closing Texas A&M's 23rd Annual Administrative Leadership Institute (ALI). "The professors with whom I work consistently model excellence in everything they do," Thaemlitz said. "They raise the bar and push me to strive for excellence as well." David Erlandson, professor in the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development, presented Thaemlitz with the award. "Kristi has shown the ability and desire to research, author and publish work that will have a lasting impact on public education," Erlandson said. "She has made the kind of mark on research that Stinnett made." The fellowship is given in memory of Dr. T.M. Stinnett, who had a long, distinguished career as an educator. Stinnett published numerous articles in scholarly journals, participated in the preparation of several significant state and national reports on education, and authored or co-authored more than 60 books. "I will strive to live up to the namesake for which this award is given," Thaemlitz said. "It is an honor to be called a billboard of excellence for our students in education."
