UndergraduateAdmissions OverviewThe programs of study in the College of Education and Human Development are composed of two phases--the pre-professional phase and the professional phase. The pre-professional phase consists of basic University Core Curriculum requirements and introductory courses to the major field of study. The professional phase consists of advanced work in the major field of study, courses in the professional undergirding disciplines and professional studies courses. For information on admissions to Texas A&M go to Texas A&M University Office of Admissions and Records website. Upon entering the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), students are assigned a general CEHD major that tracks the pre-professional phase of their chosen program. If you are already a student at A&M University and would like to switch your major to ISNC please click HERE To advance to the professional phase of the chosen program and to be accepted into the professional major, students must meet the program entry requirements and be accepted by the program faculty. Students are responsible for contacting the departmental advisors to obtain information about specific requirements for their major and program areas. Professional Admissions RequirementsIn order to advance to the professional phase of studies, applicants must currently be (1) an ISNC student in good standing with the College of Education and Human Development, (2) have a 2.0 minimum GPR based on all course work completed at Texas A&M University, and (3) have completed the following sub-set courses (or approved substitutes): ENGL 104, HIST 105 & 106, POLS 206 & 207, MATH 141 & 142, two 4-hour natural science courses, INFO 209, and either ACCT 209 or MGMT 209. A Completed application packet for admission to professional phase consists of the following (all forms and degree plans are available at forms)
**If currently enrolled at Texas A&M University, at least one recommendation should come from a Texas A&M University instructor. Application Deadline: Applications for the professional phase of studies may be submitted at any time by qualified students who have completed 45 hours (or more) of coursework. All ISNC students must apply for the professional phase of studies by the time they complete 75 hours. ISNC pre-professional students who have completed 75 hours or more of their studies will be blocked from pre-registration. All application documents must be submitted together in one packet to the EAHR Advising Office.
