Yetter Honored as May Distinguished Honor Graduate

Sheri Yetter was recognized as a May 2008 Distinguished Honor Graduate at a ceremony in her honor on Friday, May 9.

Sheri, a human resource development major, is one of the College's non-traditional students and is completing her undergraduate degree after working for many years.  As a part of her education, Sheri interned with the Women's Studies Program.  After finishing her internship in Fall 2007, Sheri was hired as the Sr. Policy and Review Specialist for Texas A&M's Employee Services, Policy and Practice Review Department.  The job encompasses many facets under the broad umbrella of human resources.

Sheri finds herself relating to experiences and knowledge gained her human resources classes on a daily basis in her current position.  The acceptance she experienced as a non-traditional student from her more traditional classmates reinforced the fact that work, and life in general, involves communicating with people of all ages, backgrounds, and expectations.

After graduating tomorrow, Sheri will turn her attention to her family and her new position.  She hopes to pursue SPHR certification in the near future.  Sheri is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was named to the dean's honor roll for summer 2007 and fall 2007.  Sheri will graduate magna cum laude with a 3.772 GPR.
